George Irven “Irv” Robb
April 27, 1859 --- September 7, 1937

“Irve” Robb, Former Traerite, Is Dead
George Irven Robb 78, many years a resident of the Traer community, died at his home near Belmond, Iowa of pneumonia following a stroke which he suffered last week. He had been in reasonably good health up to that time. He was the father of Earl Robb of Traer, and Mrs. Gertrude Cone southeast of Traer, both of whom were with him when he died.

The funeral will be held at Belmond today after which the body will be returned here for burial this afternoon in West Union cemetery.

Born in New Jersey, Mr. Robb was married October 21, 1880 at Reinbeck. He and his wife spent nine years on North Tama county farms, then lived in Traer for twenty-five more years. About twenty-three years ago they moved to a farm in the vicinity of Goldfield, Iowa and since then have lived on farms around Goldfield, Goodell, Kanawha and Belmond.

Mr. Robb was the father of sixteen children, fourteen of whom, with the widow, survive. Besides Earl Robb and Mrs. Cone, these are Mrs. Ernest Bohnsack near Garwin; Dan of Cedar Rapids, Walter of Waterloo, George and Lyman at home; Ernie, John, Art, and Roy all living in or around Webster City, Iowa; Orphie, a married daughter living at Iowa Falls and Emma, who also is married. A son Tom, died at Goldfield, Iowa a few years ago and another Lew, died last December at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Irven Robb was a brother of John Robb, who died at Dysart a couple years ago. Another brother, Pete died a few years ago in Nebraska. One sister, Mrs. Henry Perry is living in Minnesota.
