Dorothy Smith was born in Iowa City and raised in Clarion where she attended school. She married Raymond Armour in 1956 at Blairsburg. The couple made their home in Milaca, Minn., until their move to Clare in 1963. In 1971 she began employment at Globe Union which later became CRL Components. She was employed there until becoming ill in 1988. The couple moved to Vincent in 1984 and to Humboldt in 1989.

Dorothy Armour, 49, Humboldt, died Saturday evening, May 13, 1989, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; sons, Rodney, Fort Dodge; and Rick, Duncombe; daughters, Ralene Gibbs, Piano, Texas; and Rodeane of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Duitscher, Clarion; sisters, Jean Weiss, Fort Dodge; and Donna Nelson, Churdan.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16, at 1:30 p.m. at the Vincent Methodist Church with the Rev. Jacob VanMahtgem officiating. Burial was in Holmes Lutheran Cemetery near
Holmes. Gunderson Funeral Home of Fort Dodge was in charge of arrangements.
