Clarion — Ray Marion Duitscher, 82, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Clarion, died Sunday (May 11, 2003) at the Friendship Haven Health Care Center in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Willim Funeral Home, 602 N. Main in Clarion with the Rev. Tim Platt officiating. Burial will take place at the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Willim Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. in Clarion, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

Ray Marion Duitscher, 82, formerly of Clarion, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Friendship Haven Health Care Center, Fort Dodge.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14th at Willim Funeral Home in Clarion. Rev. Tim Piatt officiated the 10 a.m. service. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Ray Marion Duitscher was born January 18, 1921, in Clarion (Wright County), the son of Joe and Carrie Duitscher Ray and his family lived on a farm north of Holmes. As a child he attended and graduated from Clarion High School. Following graduation he worked on the ships traveling the Great Lakes of Michigan. He returned to Wright County and farmed near Goldfield where he lived until he retired.

Ray and Clara Jane Smith were united in marriage on December 31, 1956 in Harrison, Arkansas. They were the parents of three daughters-Dorothy Marlene, Neola Jean and Donna Rae.

Ray was a member of IOOF, Masonic Lodge and White Shrine.

He is survived by two daughters-Jean Weiss and husband, Robert (Toby) of Fort Dodge; Donna Nelson and husband, Eldon of Jefferson, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one brother-Joel Duitscher of Mason City; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents; wife-Clara Jane; one daughter-Dorothy Marlene, three brothers-Harold, Delmar and Donald; and one great grandson.
