Funeral services for Guy A. Smith, 40, who died at his home here in southwest Clarion, were held at the Church of Christ, Saturday afternoon, with Rev. Paul L. Stacy officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, three daughters, Dorothy Marlene, Neola Jean and Donna Ray; his mother, Mrs. Belle Smith of Clarion; three brothers, Dale, Don and Lyle all of Clarion, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Johnson of Hampton and Mrs. Racine Wigg of Clarion.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Smith, he was born Nov. 6, 1909, at Rock Island, Ill. The next year the family moved to Wright county, He was educated in the Wright county and Clarion public schools. He was married to Clara Jane Howell June 2, 1935.

His death was due to an operation which he underwent in May from which he never fully recovered. He had been employed as fireman and engineer on the Chicago and Great Western since 1937.

Code of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Furland, Conrad; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Yocum, Galt; Mrs. Wilmer Burke, Mrs. Frank Quigley and Pat, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Trees, Mrs. Clifford Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ramsey, all of Belmond; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Whitten, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bingham, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Steffens, George Pritchett, Marge Pritchett, Faye Ryder, Mrs. Wilbur Linaweaver, all of Rowan; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Leo McDermott, Dows, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
