Keith H. Packard, D.D.S. passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Palm Desert, CA on Wednesday, February 10, 2009. He was born December 6, 1928 to Ruth and Harry Packard in Britt, Iowa. He graduated Iowa Dental School and married Dora Lea "Jan" Packard on April 3, 1954. They eventually moved to California where he began his Pediatric Dental Practice in the South Bay from 1956 until 1986. He always enjoyed running into his patients that had grown into wonderful young adults.

In 1972 he was very proud of the nickname one of his young patients gave him "Painless Packard" after having a tooth extracted. This also became the name of his boats. His passion beginning in 1979 was water-skiing the 56 mile Catalina Ski Race. He won the "Oldest Skier" in the race 7 times. At 70 years old he won his last Race and retired from the Ski Race. They moved from Rolling Hills, CA to Palm Desert, CA in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Jan of Palm Desert, CA; and his daughter, Alicia of Orange County, CA. There will be a Memorial at the Rolling Hills Covenant Church North Campus Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 11:30am to 3:00pm, reception after. His wishes were to return to his birthplace of Britt, Iowa where he will be buried on Friday, February 20, 2009.
