Earl Stanley Hansen

Earl Stanley Hansen, was born on October 31, 1915, in Delana Township, Humboldt County, Iowa,
the son of Lewis and Minnie Mae Wiuff Hansen. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. He was united in marriage with Gretchen A. Quade on September 19, 1936, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He worked for Carlson Implement in Humboldt, prior to purchasing Hansen Implement in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He had the John Deere Dealership from 1956 to 1977. Retiring in 1978, they returned to Humboldt. In February of 1997, they moved to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge and on December 2, 1999, they moved to the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, a fifty-year member of IOOF Riverview Lodge #20, Rutland, Iowa, and a former member of the Izaak Walton League.

Earl Stanley Hansen died Monday, December 6, 1999, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen, Eagle Grove; three daughters, Marlene Kleppe and husband, Conrad, Eagle Grove, Linda Whitehead and husband, Steven, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Chery Kuhn and husband, Dick, Clive, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Howard Hansen and wife, Shirley, Lake Villa, Ill.; and one sister, Louise Boyle, Humboldt. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orville; and an infant grandson, Stephen Kleppe.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 9, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with Reverend Clifton Ellerbeck officiating. Burial was held in Union Cemetery in Humboldt. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
