Hannah Carol Rasmussen, the daughter of Hans and Anne Hanson Thompson, was born on January 14, 1888 at Hampton, Iowa. As a small child, she moved with her family to Wright County and lived north of Goldfield, where she grew up and attended the rural schools. On March 18, 1908, she was united in marriage with Hans P. Rasmussen and to this union were born three sons, Alan, Wesley and Donald. The family lived and farmed near Goldfield for many years. In 1957, Hannah and Hans moved into Goldfield. Mr. Rasmussen died on Sept. 6, 1961. Mrs. Rasmussen was a long-time member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield. She had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove for the past several years.

She died on Monday evening, January 23, 1984 at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 96 years and nine days

She is survived by three sons, Alan of Humboldt, Wesley of Goldfield and Donald of Heber Springs, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandchild, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah C. Rasmussen, 96, of Goldfield, were held on Thursday, Jan. 26, 1984 at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield. Rev. Victor Victoria officiated and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Wednesday.
