Hans P. Rasmussen, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 6th at his home in Goldfield. Mr. Rasmussen was born on a farm north west ot Goldfield and has spent his entire life in this community.

He is survived by his wife, and three sons, Allen of Humboldt, Wesley of Goldfield and Donald of North Syracuse, N. Y., also 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. Kay Mills. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Obituary

Hans P. Rasmussen was born Feb. 2, 1883 on the Rasmussen farm 2½ miles north-west of Goldfield. Hans was the youngest of 9 children of Mr. and Mrs. Peter C. Rasmussen. He attended Goldfield school.

Following the death of his father, Hans and his brother Antone, farmed the home place for a few years. In 1908 Hans was united in marriage to Hannah Thompson of Goldfield and they settled on the home place. For some years the mother of the deceased lived with Hans and Hannah.

In 1936 Hans and Hannah moved to an acreage on the north edge of Goldfield. They enjoyed 20 years there before moving to their present home in Goldfield.

Hans joined the United Presbyterian Church in 1894 when he was 11 years of age. He was an active member of Sunday School and his church his many healthy years.

Left to mourn their loss are: the deceased's wife, Hannah: three sons, Allen of Humboldt, Wesley of Goldfield and Donald of North Syracuse, New York; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. –Goldfield Chronicle
