Funeral services for Fred Christian Rasmussen were held at the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home in Eagle Grove Saturday afternoon with burial in the Goldfield cemetery. Rev. Ira D. Halvorsen officiated.

Mr. Rasmussen, who was 76 years old, passed away at his home near here Thursday morning, May 14, after a lingering illness. He was born in Langeland, Denmark on Sept. 4, 1859, and lived there during his early boyhood and young manhood. In May, 1886 he came to America and settled on a farm in the Goldfield community, remaining here until his death. In 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Contina Hanson and to this union eight children were born, one son dying in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Pletcher, dying several years ago. The widow, six children, Mrs. Lillie Gosnell of Selah, Wash., Peter of Clarion, Jeanette of Minneapolis, Andrew, Jennie and Harry at home, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Hans Hanson of Bingham Lake, Minn., and one sister in Denmark, two brothers, one in Denmark and Carl of Clarion, survive, together with many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Rasmussen was a kind and loving husband and father, whose life was devoted to righteousness and well-doing, and his passing is mourned by a large circle of friends and neighbors, who sympathize with his bereaved family.
