Funeral services for Oliver Lee Rasmussen, 75, were at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Park Church of Christ, with Doug Hanson officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Mr. Rasmussen died Sunday evening at the North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City, following a long illness. He was a retired farmer and tiler.

He is survived by two sons: Floyd of Goldfield, and Orval of Fort Dodge; four daughters: Mrs. Lee Jorgensen, Mrs. Wayne Keesler, Adel; Mrs. Howard Matta, Fort Dodge; Mrs. John Zeka, Des Plaines, Ill. Other survivors are one brother, Ralph of Goldfield, and two sisters: Mrs. Clarence Odland, Dows, and Mrs. Mary Eblen, Morris, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Obituary

Oliver Lee Rasmussen, the son of Chris and Rosa Helmer Rasmussen, was born July 7, 1902 at Goldfield, Iowa.

Oliver was educated in the rural Goldfield school. On November 24, 1925 he was married to Emma Fay Prusia at Benson, Minn. They farmed around the Benson area until they moved to
Goldfield where they farmed for a short time. For the last forty years he worked as a tiler in the Goldfield area, retiring in 1967. Mrs. Rasmussen died in 1962.

Oliver died Sunday, September 11, 1977, at the North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

Survivors include two sons: Floyd Rasmussen, Goldfield; Orval Rasmussen, Fort Dodge; four daughters: Florence (Mrs. Lee) Jorgensen, Goldfield; Grace (Mrs. Wayne) Keesler, Adel; Shirley (Mrs. Howard) Matta, Fort Dodge; Linda (Mrs. John) Zeka, Des Plaines, Ill.; one brother, Ralph Rasmussen, Goldfield; two sisters, Lola (Mrs. Clarence) Odland, Dows; Mrs. Mary Eblen, Morris, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Emma, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 14 at 1 p.m. at the Park Church of Christ, Goldfield. Doug Hanson officiated and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. –Goldfield Chronicle.
