John Clarence Christopher was born November 2, 1897, the son of Gudman and Julia Hanson at Thor. He attended school in rural Eagle Grove.

He was united in marriage to Constance Field of Thor on August 24,1924, at Humboldt. The couple farmed near Thor, moving into Thor in 1942. They retired from farming in 1946. The couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1988.

He then moved to the Humboldt Care Center-North, Humboldt, in August of 1991. Mrs. Christopher died in September, 1991.

He was a member of the Ullensvang Lutheran Church, Thor.

John Christopher, died at the North Humboldt Care Center, December. 12, 1991, at the age of 94 years, one month, and 10 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; six brothers, Edward, Herman, Lyman, Arthur, Millard, and Albert; and a sister, Mabel Parker.

He is survived by a son, Richard, and his wife, Lois, of Thor.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 14, at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church, Thor, with the Rev. H. W. Schiller, officiating at the 1:30 p.m. services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, were in charge of arrangements.
