Charles Frank Whetsler
21 October 1889 --- 27 March 1974

Charles Frank Whetsler was born October 21, 1889 at Clinton, Ill., the son of Benjamin Franklin and Ruth Alice Sprague Whetsler. He attended school at Lane's Station, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Nellie Johanna Johnson on December 26, 1915, at Clinton, Ill. The family lived at Kanawha and Renwick before moving to a farm east of Eagle Grove. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1951. Mrs. Whetsler died in 1965.

Frank had been in ill health for some time, and died at the Rotary Ann Home, Eagle Grove, on Wednesday, March 27, 1974, at the age of 84 years, five months, and six days.

He is survived by one son, Gerald Whetsler, Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Jones of Santa Monica, Calif., Mrs. Verna Xanders of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Doris Berns, Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kimball, Ventura, and Mrs. Ara Tabb, Corwith; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 29, at 1:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Forbes officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
