Clair Ormand Biondahl, the son of Arthur and Norma (Polmateer) Biondahl, was born January 12, 1923. He was baptized July 8, 1925, at Norway Hauge Lutheran Church, near Thor. Clair graduated from Eagle Grove. He was employed at Maplewood Dairy and Boone Valley Soybean Processing in Eagle Grove and retired after 20 years at Franklin Manufacturing in Webster City.

Clair served with the United States Navy during WWII, serving in the South Pacific.

On October 11, 1947, Clair was united in marriage to Shirley Belle Baker, in LuVerne. Iowa.

Clair Biondahl passed away on Friday, November 15, 2002, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge at the age of 79 years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; 6 daughters and 1 son: Jenean and husband, Sherwood Boyd of Eagle Grove, Kathy and husband, Greg Stiltz of Eagle Grove, Denise Biondahl of Clarion, Patrice Hemenway of Waterloo, Ellen and husband, Chris Reyna of Eagle Grove, Colleen and husband, Tom Marriam of Britt, and Jon Biondahl and wife, Laurie of Eagle Grove; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and his sister, Bertha Biondahl Wryn of Oregon.

Clair was an avid outdoorsman, nature and wildlife enthusiast. When he wasn't fishing or hunting, he enjoyed talking about his many experiences doing both. At his residence, in the northeast part of Eagle Grove, he pen raised pheasant, geese, ducks, chickens, and other wildlife that were enjoyed by many. Clair had many interests, hobbies and loved to involve his family and friends in them.

He will be missed by all those that knew him.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Burial was in Norway Township Cemetery in Thor.
