Shirley Belle Biondahl, 74, from Eagle Grove, passed away Sat. Nov. 29, 2003 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services were held Mon. Dec. 1, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial was in Norway Township Cemetery in Thor.

Shirley Belle Biondahl was born on Aug. 6, 1929 in Eagle Grove, the daughter of Jacob and Olga (Johnson) Baker. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth.

On Oct. 11, 1947, Shirley was united in marriage with Clair O. Biondahl in LuVerne. They made their home in Eagle Grove, except for three years or so they lived on a farm near Woolstock. Clair preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2002.

Shirley was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked at the Group Home in Eagle Grove for nine years and also at Dodger Industries. Her free time was spent sewing clothes and flower gardening.

Survivors include six daughters and one son: Jenean and husband Sherwood Boyd of Rockford; Kathy and husband Greg Stiltz of Eagle Grove; Denise Biondahl of Clarion; Patrice Hemenway of Waterloo; Ellen and husband Chris Reyna of Eagle Grove; Colleen and husband Tom Merriam of Britt, and Jon Biondahl and wife Laurie of Eagle Grove; 16 grandchildren: 30 great-grandchildren; brothers Bob Baker and wife Kay of Clarinda; Kenny Baker of Redfield; Larry Baker and wife Joan of Eagle Grove; and Tom Baker of Chickasha, Okla.; and a sister Janice Haugland and husband Mel of Eagle Grove. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.
