Marion A. Hanson
3 November 1925 --- 12 February 1945

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hanson received a telegram from the War Department Saturday afternoon informing them their son T/5 Marion Hanson had died Feb. 12th in Luxembourg from wounds received in action.

Marion graduated from the Eagle Grove high school in 1943, and trained with the ASTRP at Iowa State College, Ames, until December of the same year when he was sent to Ft. Benning, Ga. to train with the infantry. Later he was transferred to Georgia with the Combat Engineers. He spent a furlough here with his parents in August 1944. He arrived in England Nov. 3, 1944 the day he was nineteen years old. The first part of January he arrived in France where he served with the Third Army as Combat Engineer. Sgt. Hanson is survived by his parents and one brother, Jerry.
