Guy William Hanson
19 August 1898 ---- 19 June 1974

Guy William Hanson was born August 19, 1898, in Boone Township, Wright County, Iowa, the son of Rasmus and Hansine Christensen Hanson. He received his education in the Boone Township School. He engaged in farming during his early years, and also corn shelling and road grading.

He was united in marriage to Grace Kelling of Goldfield on January 28, 1925, at Goldfield.

The family moved to Eagle Grove in 1942, and Mr. Hanson operated the Hanson Welding and Machine Shop until retiring in 1965. He has been in ill health since that time.

He died on Wednesday, June 19, at Trinity East Hospital, Fort Dodge at the age of 75 years, and ten months.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Jerry Hanson, Fort Dodge; and three grandchildren; four brothers, Lyman Hanson, Tempe, Ariz.; George Hanson, Clarion; Earl Hanson, Ames; Don Hanson, Britt; three sisters, Violet, Mrs. John Hansen, N. Bend, Ore.; Jennie, Mrs. M. J. Siemens, Goldfield; Miss Lena Hanson, Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one son, Marion, who lost his life in service in World War II.

Mr. Hanson was a member of the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove. Rev. Emmett Braselton officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
