Madge Evelyn (Loobey) Christensen Hunt
25 September 1909 --- 7 March 1991

Madge Hunt, 81, Webster City, died Thursday afternoon, March 7, at Crestview Manor Care Center, where she had been a resident for two weeks. She had been in failing health for three months.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy Miltner officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at the Union cemetery in Livermore. Visitation at the Foster Funeral Home will be after 5 p.m. Saturday, until 8 a.m. Monday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

Madge Evelyn Loobey, daughter of Edward and Lena (Trowbridge) Loobey was born Sept. 25, 1909, at
Renwick. She was educated in Renwick and in Minnesota. She married Carl Christensen on Sept. 17, 1930, in Nashua. The couple resided in Eagle Grove. She married Elmer Hunt on Dec. 5, 1952, in LuVerne. The couple farmed in Lu Verne and moved to Lakewood, Calif. in 1955. They later returned to Iowa, residing in Webster City. In California, Mrs. Hunt was employed as a switchboard operator at the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach for 10 years.

She is survived by a son, Paul E. Christensen, Belmond; a daughter-in-law, Deloris Christensen, Webster City; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Neva Iverson, Mission Hills, Calif., and Shirley Davis, Odessa, Texas. She was preceded in death by two sons, her parents, five brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Hunt was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary for 41 years, and the VFW Auxiliary for the past six years.
