Mrs. Henry Tesdahl of Lake township met death last Thursday afternoon in a freakish squall in which the death of this woman proved to be the only serious consequence. When Mrs. Tesdahl noticed that the wind was gathering, she went into the yard to gather the chickens into the brooder house. The wind blew the building over onto her as she was working around it and an edge of the shingle roof fell across her neck. Besides her own small children, the only person who was at home at the time was Harris Damon, 15 years old, who has been working there this season. He was unable to lift the weight from the woman, but Mr. Tesdahl arrived soon afterwards from a business trip to Clarion and Holmes, and he relieved the victim from the dangerous weight. Though a physician was called there was nothing that could be done to relieve her condition, and she died soon.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home and at St. John’s Lutheran church in Boone township by the Rev. Reitan of Kanawha assisted by Rev. Ljostvelt and Rev. Luthro. Interment was made in the cemetery a short distance from the church. This was one of the largest funerals ever held in the county.

Anna Caroline Larson was born October 26, 1894, near Leland, Ill. She was baptised in the Lutheran faith January 26, 1895, and confirmed June 19, 1909.

She moved to Iowa with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Larson, in 1904, and has lived in Lake and Norway townships in Wright county until the time of her departure.

On February 17, 1915, she was united in marriage with Henry Tesdahl. To this happy union were born four children—Alvina Ruth, 11; Margaret Thelma, 8; Mildred Oralee, 4 and Richard Eugene, 3, who with the loving husband mourn her loss.

Besides her immediate family she leaves her parents, three sisters and two brothers—Mrs. Olga Lynch, Lawrence, Oscar, Kathryn and Mary Larson and a host of relative and friends who will miss her presence more than words can express.

Mrs. Henry Tesdahl was a loving mother and a devoted wife whose pride was in her home and with her family. No task was too hard or no deed too small to serve her loved ones and it can truthfully be said she made friends everywhere.

Mrs. Tesdahl was an active church member and took an interested part in the ladies’ aid of which she was a member.

One of the saddest events that has occurred here for some time happened Thursday afternoon when Mrs. Henry Tesdahl, who lives north of Holmes, was killed during the wind storm. Mrs. Tesdahl went out to take care of her chickens and go down to get some of the chickens that were under the brooder house and the house was blown over on her. The children were home and summoned help but she died a short time after the doctor arrived. Mr. Tesdahl was on his way home from Clarion when the accident occurred.

She leaves four small children, a husband, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Larsen [Larson], and a number of sisters and brothers.
