Vera Christensen
16 August 1907 --- 11 March 1974

Vera Christensen was born August 16, 1907, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Margaretta Nielsen Christensen.

She was educated in the Eagle Grove schools, graduated from Eagle Grove High School and Iowa Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught in country schools around Eagle Grove and Webster City for 16 years. She entered Civil Service and worked for the Coast Guard in Washington, D. C. after 1942 and until 1955, when she returned to Eagle Grove to make her home.

She passed away March 11, 1974, at the Clapp Rest Home, at the age of 66 years, six months, and 25 days.

She is survived by two brothers, Carl R. Christensen, Eagle Grove and Leonard Christensen, St. Ansgar; two sisters, Caroline, Mrs. Lawrence Loux, Webster City and Mrs. Erna Arsenoff, Eagle Grove; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Vera was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid of the church.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 14, at the Samuel Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Pastor P. L. Mork officiated, time of service was 1:30 p.m. and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
