Paul Heggen
February 22, 1899 --- January 29, 1990

Paul Heggen was born on February 22, 1899 near Renwick to Ole T. and Carrie Tjeranson Heggen. He was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the Lake Lutheran Church near Renwick. Paul received his education at Renwick, graduating from the Renwick High School. Upon graduation, he took over the operation of the family farm southwest of Renwick.

On August 5, 1936, Paul was united in marriage to Mary Speich at Renwick. They continued to operate the family farm. Paul was a lifetime member of the Lake Lutheran Church. Paul's wife, Mary, died in 1981.

Paul became a resident of the West Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge on November 20, 1989. Paul Heggen died at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge on Monday, January 29, 1990, at the age of 90.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers; three sisters; and one nephew. He is survived by his sister, Olena of West Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge; two nieces, Ruth O'Neal, Minneapolis, Minn., and Carmen Billings of Bloomington, Minn.; great-nieces; great-nephews; and great-great-nieces.

Funeral services were held at the Lake Lutheran Church, rural Renwick, Friday, February 2, at 1:30 p.m., with Dr. Palmer Wold and Pastor Oliver Everson officiating. Interment was in the Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Renwick. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
