Funeral services for Emil Fjetland, 49, who passed away suddenly Monday evening at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge will be held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock. Rev. M. L. Christensen will be in charge of the service.

Mr. Fjetland, who was the operator of the Mobile Service Station on Highway No. 3 was stricken with a heart attack Monday morning at the station. He was taken to the hospital about noon but all possible medical efforts failed and he passed away at 9 o'clock in the evening. He leaves to mourn, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ronald Maassen of Eagle Grove, two sons, Gaylen and Burton, one granddaughter and other relatives. – Goldfield Chronicle

Funeral services for Emile Fjetland who died last Monday evening, were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. M. L. Christensen in charge of the services. Special music was furnished by Mrs. Conger Whyte and Leonard Madison, accompanied by Mrs. Glen Braden. Pallbearers were Don Bowman, Stanley Nervig, Elmer Gustafson, Braden Stoakes, George Abbas and Otis Robinson Interment was made in the Glenwood cemetery,

Obituary

Emile Fjetland, the son of Edward and Gerina [Gurine] Fjetland, was born at Williams, Iowa December 18, 1900, and departed this life at the Lutheran Hospital at Fort Dodge, Iowa on August 21, 1950, having attained the age of 49 years 8 months 3 days.

He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith to which he remained constant until death claimed him.

On December 27, 1922 [23 Dec 1923] he married Ruth Hansen [Hanson] who passed away December 3, 1929. To this union a daughter was born. On February 14, 1931 he was united in marriage to Louise Larsen. To this union two sons were born.

Deceased lived in Humboldt, Ia., 15 years, and for the last nine years has lived and done business in Goldfield.

His parents and four brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He leaves his wife Louise, two sons, Galen and Burton of Goldfield, one daughter Eloise, (Mrs. Ronald Maassen) of Eagle Grove, two brothers, Ole of Humboldt, Dan of Goodell, one granddaughter, Rhonda Kay Maassen, and a number of nephews and nieces to mourn his departure. – Goldfield Chronicle
