Roy M. Pressler
29 November 1894 --- 26 March 1972

Roy M. Pressler was born November 29, 1894, in South Whitley County, Indiana, the son of George F. and Isabelle Heller Pressler. He attended school in Whitley County and Andrews, Indiana. He came to Iowa November 27, 1913, working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, before entering the Army for service in the 1st World War, from April 22, 1918 to August 5, 1919. From June 7, 1918 to July 30, 1919 he served in Europe. Returning to Eagle Grove after discharge from the Army, he was again employed by the railroad.

He was united in marriage to Clara Stracke of Eagle Grove, on March 3, 1920, at Eagle Grove. The couple had made their home in Eagle Grove since that time.

Mr. and Mrs. Pressler became the parents of four children, all of whom survive. They are Thomas R. Pressler, Minneapolis, Minn.; Betty, Mrs. Walter Moffitt, Jr., Eagle Grove; Jeanette, Mrs. Max Ingle, Runnells; and Rosemary, Mrs. Ed Vance, Glenville, California.

Mr. Pressler had been in failing health for some time, and entered the Bethesda General Hospital, Fort Dodge, on March 20, and passed away there on Sunday, March 26, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 27 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Ray O. Pressler, and a sister, Lydia.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, Bower Lodge No. 464, AF & AM, The American Legion, and 31st Railway Engineers of World War I.

He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Olive Reemer, Andrews, Indiana, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
