Kenneth Arthur Toresdahl

Kenneth Arthur Toresdahl, 49, died Saturday, March 4, 1972 at his home at 219 S. Cadwell, Eagle Grove.

He is survived by his wife, Elinor, and four children: Keith Alan, Terri Jo, Mark William, and Kara Lee, all at home. A brother, Ovid C. Toresdahl, Eagle Grove and his mother, Mrs. Bert (Ida) Toresdahl, Eagle Grove, also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert.

Mr. Toresdahl was born in Eagle Grove May 30, 1922 to Bert and Ida Berg Toresdahl. He was baptized on July 9, 1922 with Rev. T. J. Severtson officiating. On June 13, 1937 he was confirmed at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. T. J. Severtson.

He was educated in the Eagle Grove schools and graduated with the class of 1940.

He was united in marriage to Elinor Oppedahl Dec. 25, 1943. Following their marriage, they lived on farms near Eagle Grove. In 1996 they moved to a farm near Hardy where they lived until they moved to their present location in November of 1971.

Kenneth was chairman of the board of Trustees at Trinity Lutheran Church of Hardy. He also served as treasurer of the LEM, was a member of the building committee, and taught Sunday School. Kenneth and his family were received into membership of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church January 9, 1972.

He entered the hospital in Mason City for tests and exams on May 28, 1971 and following surgery he returned home and since that time grew steadily weaker.
