Anna Frances Meier Olson
20 December 1896 --- 17 December 1989

Anna Frances Olson, the daughter of John N. and Katherine Stallman Meier, was born December 20, 1896 near Pipestone, Minn. She attended Eagle Grove schools. On April 21, 1917, she married Ole Olson. She retired from Methodist Hospital in Des Moines in 1970. She was a member of St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines, Mercy Hospital Guild, Bishop Drumme Home, Guild, Broadlawns Hospital Guild, Polk County Gold Star, Navy Mother Club No. 12 and a past commander of the Woodman Circle and American Legion Auxiliary.

Anna Frances Olson died December 17, 1989, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ole, in 1960; four sons, Harold, Donald, and two infant sons; and an infant daughter; one sister, Katherine Kepler; and one brother, Bernard Meier. She is survived by two sons, John, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Darrell, Sigourney; a daughter, Luella Carpenter, Allerton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren.

Services were held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, December 19, with the Rev. Ernest E. Braida officiating, Graveside Services were held at Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove December 19 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Droessler, Sacred Heart Church, officiating. The Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, was in charge of arrangements.

Sigourney -- Anna Olson, 93, died Sunday in Sigourney Care Center following a long illness. She had worked at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. Survivors include two sons, John of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Darrell of Sigourney; a daughter, Luella Carpenter of Allerton; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services 1 p.m. Tuesday, Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Holm's, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
