Mildred Alice Gilbertson Willard
18 August 1899 --- 13 December 1970

Mildred Alice Willard, daughter of Andrew and Bertha Roath Gilbertson, was born August 18, 1899 in Goodell, Iowa. She attended the Kossuth County schools. On November 4, 1914 she was united in marriage to Braden Willard in Fenton and to this union five children were born: Frances, Louis, Bernice, and Duane, and Maxine, who died in infancy.

Mrs. Willard was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She had devoted many years of her life caring for those who were ill in their homes.

She suffered a heart attack on November 20 and had been hospitalized until last Saturday at which time she was brought to her son, Duane's, home in Thor to recuperate. She passed away Sunday evening, December 13, having reached the age of 71 years, 3 months, and 25 days.

Mrs. Willard was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Braden in 1963, and several brothers and sisters, and daughter, Maxine, in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her passing her four children: Mrs. John Cleveland and Louis Willard of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Harry Wray of Algona; and Duane Willard of Thor; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; also, three brothers: Harry Gilbertson of Ironwood, Mich.; Carl Gilbertson of California; and Louis Gilbertson of Carolina; and three sisters: Mrs. Iva Johnson, Fenton; Mrs. Clayton Carley, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs. Bertha Spivey, St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Interment was held in Rose Hill cemetery.
