Otis Ulysses Thorn
5 March 1888 --- 14 March 1975

Funeral services for Otis U. Thorn, 87, were held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Norman White officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Thorn died Friday morning at Trinity East Hospital, Fort Dodge.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Peterson; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Thorn of Eagle Grove.

Mr. Thorn worked for the Wright County road maintenance department for twenty-one years, and after he retired worked as a night watchman for Umthun Trucking Co. Previously he was employed by the Eagle Grove Fire Department for six years, and also worked for the Chicago and North Western R.R.

Mr. Thorn was born in Union, Ia. and attended school there. He and Margaret Fogarty of Clare were married in 1915. He was preceded in death by two sons.
