Dr. Vincent Raymond Metheny

Vincent R. "Doc" Metheny, 82, of 2917 Easton Blvd. died of cancer Tuesday at Hospice Kavanagh House. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Dr. Metheny was born in Audubon and moved to Des Moines in 1979 from Eagle Grove, where he retired as a chiropractic physician. He was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Among survivors are two sons, Jan of Des Moines and Doug of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kitty Abram of Gretna, La.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Four Mile Senior Center or Faith Baptist Bible College.
