Robert James Warner
3 January 1909 --- 29 May 1968

Robert James Warner was born on January 3, 1909, at Page, N. Dakota, the son of Lewis and Julia Smith Warner. He attended school at Page and moved to the Eagle Grove and Thor area in 1928.

He was united in marriage to Gladys Berven on March 7, 1938, in Thor. The couple then engaged in farming and since 1940 have lived on the same farm North-East of Thor.

Mr. Warner suffered his first heart attack some 9 years ago, and a second attack about 2 years ago. He died of a heart attack on May 29 while driving his car about one mile west of Woolstock at the age of 59 years, 4 months, and 26 days.

He was a member of the Thor Lutheran Church, the Evergreen Sporting Association, and was a past director of the Goldfield Cooperative Creamery.

Warner is survived by his wife, Gladys, and one daughter, Mary Jean, Mrs. Leonard Blanchard of Webster City; one granddaughter; and four brothers, Kermit Warner, Moorhead, Minn.; Clifford Warner, Page, N. Dakota; Kenneth Warner, Page, N. Dakota; and Harold Warner, Moorhead, Minn.; also, five sisters, Mrs. Pat Batems, Upham, N. Dakota; Mrs. Ted Samuelson, Starbuck, Minn.; Mrs. Ben Trump, Pomeroy, Wash.; Mrs. Victor Beekstrum, Seattle, Wash.; and Mrs. Claris Landa, Billings, Montana.

Funeral services were held at Thor Lutheran Church, Pastor Ernest Quam officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove June 1, 1968.
