Martha Bervin Berven
14 April 1880 --- 26 October 1954

Mrs. Martha Berven, daughter of Rev. Kristen and Ingeborg Berven was born April 14th, 1880 at Red Wing, Minn. and died Oct. 26, 1954 at her home. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed at Lily, S.D. She was married to John Berven at Jewell, on Oct. 11, 1904.

They farmed near here until 1940. Her daughter Mrs. Robert Warner (Gladys) of Eagle Grove and one granddaughter, Mary Jean Warner survive. Also Rev. S. Berven of Austin, Minn., Oscar Berven of Vancouver, Canada and Bertha Jones of Saskatchewan, Canada. Those preceding her in death were her mother, father, husband, one brother Edward and three sisters, Christina, Gertie and Hilda.

The funeral was held Saturday at the Thor Lutheran church at 2:30 with Rev. O. O. Brandt in charge.

Casket bearers were O. S. Olson, L. G. Larson, Palmer Larson, Elmer Nelson, Harold Hanson, and Edward McCutcheon. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.
