Maude Edna Lee Hathaway
4 January 1880 --- 19 May 1968

Mrs. Maude Edna Hathaway, 88, died Sunday at the Rotary Ann Home where she had been a patient for two years.

Funeral services were at the Sandvig Funeral home Wednesday afternoon and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Ross of Muscatine, a former pastor of the Congregational Church here, officiated.

Mrs. Hathaway is survived by one son, Clayton, superintendent of music education in the Duluth, Minn. schools; two grandchildren of Duluth, Minn., and one niece, Mrs. Orin Emerson of this city.

Mrs. Hathaway was a member of the Eagle Grove Congregational Church from childhood; the G.I.A. to the B. of L.E.; the Equality Club; and the Lamos Bible Class.

Born in Farnhamville, January 4, 1880, she received her early education there, and in 1890 moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lee and family, to Jewell. In 1895 they moved to Eagle Grove, and she was graduated from the Eagle Grove high school with the class of 1899. She taught in the Derscheid school west of Eagle Grove, and in the Eagle Grove Schools for eight years. She was married to William Hathaway in 1908 and they made their home on West Broadway.

Mrs. Hathaway was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Mrs. F. P. Foll, and one brother, Vernon Hathaway.
