Phyllis Lloyd, 86, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Falls Church Women United Thrift Store.

Phyllis B. Lloyd was born on October 9, 1934 in Guilford, Missouri to John Orville and Sarah Irene (O’Neal) Beggs. She grew up in Tarkio and graduated from Tarkio High School and Tarkio College in 1956. She taught secondary school in Guthrie Center and Glenwood, Iowa. She loved her huge garden, many flower beds, reading and volunteering.

On June 24, 1962, Phyllis was united in marriage to Duane Lloyd in Rockport, Missouri. They moved to Iowa Falls in 1965 with their family and have been in Iowa Falls ever since.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Deborah J. (Kirby) Cavett of Martensdale, IA husband Duane, of Iowa Falls, their children, Douglas R. (Susan) Lloyd of Cedar Rapids, IA, Judith (Todd) Lloyd-Felger of Earlham, IA, James Lloyd (special friend Lisa Kellogg) of IA City, IA, grandchildren Doran J. (Rita) Cavett of Philadelphia, PA, Adam R. Lloyd of Cedar Rapids, IA, Elijah-Cole J. Lloyd of Indianapolis, IN, Alexander L. Felger of West Des Moines, IA, Andrew P. Lloyd of Cedar Rapids, IA, Meredith B. Lloyd of Cedar Rapids, IA and Joshua T. Felger of Earlham, IA, brother Herbert (Mary Ann) Beggs of Mound City, MO and sister Betty Beggs of Tarkio, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Lee Fuelling.
