Funeral services for Carl Johnson were held Monday afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral home with the Rev. H. W. Schiller of the Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery and Clarence Shurtz Post of the American Legion conducted the military service at the grave.

Mr. Johnson, 71, who had been ill and in the Veterans hospital, died suddenly although he had been hospitalized for about three weeks.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, Donald, Richard, Roger, and David of Eagle Grove, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers, Frank of Jewell, and Henry of Milwaukee, Wis., three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Baker, Mrs. Thos. Liest of Rockwell City and Emil Hedblom of Boone.

Mr. Johnson was a carpenter for many years but retired about 10 years ago due to ill health.
