Mabel Baker Johnson
24 January 1904 --- 4 November 1975

Mabel Baker was born January 23, 1904 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Jacob K. and Belle Johnson Baker. She was baptized into the triune faith on May 22, 1904 by Rev. O. R. Sletten. On Nov. 16, 1919 she renewed her baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor T. J. Severtson officiating.

She passed away at the Belmond Nursing Home on November 4, 1975 after reaching the age of 71 years, nine months and 11 days.

Mabel attended the Eagle Grove Schools. On January 5, 1921 she was united in marriage to Carl Johnson at Fort Dodge, Iowa. They made their home in Eagle Grove where Mr. Johnson worked as a carpenter.

Mrs. Johnson was in the Humboldt Care Center for two months and then at the Belmond Nursing Home
where she was a patient for one week. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, on Nov. 18, 1967; brothers, Harold, Jim and Carl Baker; sisters, Martha Conaway and one in infancy. Those who mourn her passing are: four sons, Donald, Richard, Roger and David Johnson all of Eagle Grove; brother, Jacob M. Baker, Eagle Grove; sisters, Mrs. Hannah Adams, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Margaret Darland, Eagle Grove; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller in charge. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
