Charles Knoble
17 June 1888 --- 5 November 1967

Charles Knoble, 79, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 5th, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge, where he had been admitted Saturday afternoon. He had been in failing health for several years, but death was due to heart failure.

Mr. Knoble is survived by his wife, one son, William R. Knoble of New Canaan, Conn., one daughter, Mrs. Stanley B. Cross, La Habra, Calif., and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Bernard Olson. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery where military rites were given by Clarence Shurtz Post of the American Legion.

Mr. and Mrs. Knoble moved to the Rotary Ann Home one year ago on Nov 5, 1966. He was born in Nevada, Mo. and came to Eagle Grove in 1913 to work for the Chicago and North Western R. R. He was a Veteran of World War I, serving with the 13th Rail Road Engineers.

In 1919 Mr. Knoble was married to Ruth Hibbert of Eagle Grove and they made their home here. He retired from the C. and N.W. in 1935. They resided for many years in their home on North Iowa Ave., which was purchased by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for its new office. Following that they made their home at their cottage at Clear Lake in the summers and in the south during the winter months. They returned to Eagle Grove about three years ago.

Mr. Knoble was a member of the Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.

Here for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knoble and Mrs. Cross.
