Mrs. Geo. Brown dies at age 94
Funeral services for Mrs. George Brown, 94, were held Saturday afternoon at the Samuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Orville Sanderson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Wednesday evening, Aug. 28, at the Rotary Ann Home, where she had been an infirmary patient for a few weeks. She had been in failing health for several months.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Howard Jorgensen of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Bert Roseland of Omaha, Neb. Other survivors are 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Brown was a long time resident of Eagle Grove and the family lived on North Iowa Ave.

Lena Ramsvig was born March 19, 1880, at Etna, Norway, the daughter of Torburn and Martha Ramsvig. She attended school in Norway, moved to America with her family at the age of nine, settling in the Hardy, Ia. area where she completed her schooling. She was united in marriage to George C. Brown of Eagle Grove, on October 8, 1902, at Eagle Grove. Mr. Brown died in 1957. Mrs. Brown continued to make her home in Eagle Grove and died at the Rotary Ann Home on Wednesday, August 28, at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 9 days.

She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine, Mrs. Howard Jorgensen, Eagle Grove, and Beatrice, Mrs. Bert Roseland, Omaha, Neb., also 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Olaf Lee and Mrs. Helen Flood.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a child, was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Lydia Circle of the church.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Orville Sanderson officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
