Norman John Nelson
25 July 1891 -- 5 June 1966

Norman J. Nelson, 74, died Sunday at Mercy hospital, Ft. Dodge where he had been a patient for several days following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, with the pastor, Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Pat Sullivan of Thor, Mrs. Don Sherman of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Howard Keith of Oildale, Calif., and Mrs. Harold Rasmussen of Goldfield and two sons Robert of Santee, Calif, and S/S Harold Nelson of Triangle, Va. He is also survived by a brother and sister in Norway, 20 grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Mr. Nelson was born in Stansund, Norway and came to the United States and Eagle Grove in 1911. He was a long-time employee of the Chicago and Northwestern R. R. and retired in 1956. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church and Masonic lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Olaf.

Masonic services were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock.
