Signa Eleanor Strom Thebiay
14 November 1906 --- 7 August 2003

Signa Eleanor Thebiay, the daughter of Andrew and Hannah Strom, was born on November 14, 1906, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She attended Eagle Grove schools and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Signa attended Iowa State Teacher's College (U.N.I.), and then taught in Wright County schools and in Eagle Grove elementary grades. She also worked for the Iowa State Employment Division in Des Moines.

Signa married Justin Thebiay. Signa was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught
Sunday School, was a member of the church choir, Lois Church Circle, Lutheran Church Women, Lutheran Quilters Group, and the Equality Club of Eagle Grove. She enjoyed doing all kinds of handwork, especially Norwegian Hardanger embroidery. She enjoyed her travels in all fifty states and in many foreign countries.

Signa is survived by two sons, Bruce Thebiay of White Earth, Minn., and Mark Thebiay of Austin, Minn.; seven grandchildren; three great granddaughters; nieces; nephews; and friends.

Mrs. Thebiay died Thursday, August 7, 2003, at her home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 96. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Justin; a brother, Kerner Strom; and sisters, Alice Knutson and Myrtle Hanson.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 11, 1:30 p.m., from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
