Ole Olsen Howland
22 April 1882 --- 26 September 1966

Ole O. Howland was born April 22, 1882 in Norway to Ole and Marie Howland. Shortly after birth he was baptized in the Os Lutheran Church in [Hordaland] Norway and in 1896 was confirmed in the same church. He died at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa on September 26, 1966 after reaching the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 4 days.

In 1901 Mr. Howland came to the United States from Norway and farmed near Story City. On March 4, 1909 he was married to Hannah Townswick at St. John's Lutheran Church, Des Moines and 4 years later, in 1913, they moved to Wright County where they farmed southeast of Clarion. In 1944 they moved to their present home in Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Engel, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Moss.

Those who mourn his departure are his wife Hanna and 2 sisters, Llene (Mrs. Lauritz Egesdal) of Eagle Grove and Agathe Howland of Norway.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 28 at 2:00 at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Interment at Rose Hill cemetery.
