Bernice Thelma Butz was born January 19, 1903, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Johnathon and Maude Kepler
Butz. She attended schools and grew up in Eagle Grove. She married Marvin W. Johnson of Eagle Grove. The couple resided in Eagle Grove. Her husband died December 19, 1966.

Bernice T. Johnson died Friday, February 20, 1998, at the Humboldt Nursing Home, in Humboldt, at the age of 95. Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Parish of Jewell, Dolores and husband, Marvin Wergeland, of Hardy, Marlene and husband, Kenneth Vorland of Hardy, Charlene and husband, Duane Baker of Scranton; three sons, Marvin, and wife, Gwen Johnson of Eagle Grove, Bernard and wife, Marlene Johnson, of Tucson, Ariz., Johnathon, and wife, Joyce Johnson, of Webster City; one sister, Phyllis Elwood of Eagle Grove; 25 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Marvin; brothers, Clifford, Keith, Kenneth, Burdette, and one brother in infancy; one grandson, Michael Parrish; and one son-in-law, Raymond Parrish.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today), February 25, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with the Reverend H. W. Schiller officiating. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
