Heart Attack Proved Fatal In A Hospital At Peoria. Burial Monday at Pekin, Ill.

Everett C. Platt, 72, died Friday, Nov. 2 in a hospital at Peoria, Ill. He had been treated a number of times during the past year at a hospital for heart trouble, but the difficulty continued and he returned to the hospital a few days prior to his death, passing away last Friday.

Funeral services were held at Pekin Monday with burial in a Pekin, Illinois cemetery. For the past several years Mr. Platt had been working in a bank at Pekin.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Miriam Wherry of Pekin, and Phillip of Chicago, four grandchildren and three sisters, Miss May Platt and Mrs. Maude Ensey of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Grace Kershaw of New York City, N. Y. Mr. Platt was graduated from the Eagle Grove high school with the class of 1892. After graduation he was employed by various Eagle Grove banks and was assistant cashier, cashier and president of the former Citizens State Bank here. This bank was forced to close in December of 1925 because of the embezzlement of some $259,000 by E. J. Thompson, assistant cashier.

For the past several years, Mr. and Mrs. Platt were making their home with their daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Wherry at Pekin, and Mr. Platt had a position in a Pekin bank.
