17 December 1874 --- 8 June 1964

Funeral services for Miss Mae Platt, 89, will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 at the Sandvig Funeral Home with Rev. Lyle Lieder officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Miss Platt died Monday night at the Harris Nursing Home at Marble Rock where she had been a resident for five years. Recently she fell and broke her hip, but after care at the University hospital, Iowa City, was taken back to the Marble Rock Home.

She is survived by one sister Mrs. George Kershaw of Long Island, N.Y., a niece, and nephews.

Her niece, Mrs. R. C. Wherry, of So. Pekin, Ill., the former Miriam Platt, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Platt will be here for the services.

Miss Platt was born Dec. 17, 1874 at Clinton and moved here with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Platt, when he was transferred here by the Chicago and North Western R.R. Mr. Platt was a locomotive engineer.
