Hans Thompson and family are deserving a great deal of sympathy. Last Friday he received a message from Washington saying his oldest son, Axtel, was dead in France as a result of the Flu.

Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Thompson died following a two weeks illness. She had a stroke of apoplexy from which she was apparently recovering when she was again stricken last Wednesday. She never regained consciousness, so knew nothing of her son's death. One other son, Edwin, is also in France.

Mrs. Hans Thompson died on February 25th at 3:50 p. m., after a long and severe illness. Funeral at the U. P. church on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Comin officiating. She was a member of that church, was a good wife, mother and friend, an expert housekeeper and home maker and a lady of very attractive personality whose many friends lament her passing.

Leaves a husband and five children, three daughters and two sons. The news of the death of one son in France reached here just a few days before her death.

Interment in cemetery here. A large congregation coming from many localities attested the high esteem in which she was held, many being old settlers of this county. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Denmark and was 55 years of age. All express deep sympathy to the bereaved.
