Sarah Johanna Jorgenson Johnson
13 February 1872 --- 17 March 1947

Mrs. Sarah Johnson, 71, died at her home on North Wright Ave. Monday after a lingering illness. Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Miss Jorgina Johnson, and Mrs. Chester Hunt.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock at the Evangelical Lutheran church, in charge of the pastor, Rev. T. J. Severtson.

Obituary

Sarah Johanna Jorgenson was born to the parents, Ole and Carolina Jorganson, February 13, 1872, in Hamilton County, Iowa, and died at her home, N. Wright Ave., Eagle Grove, Iowa, March 17, 1947, age 75 years, 1 month, and 3 days. She received the Christian baptism, was taught the way of Salvation in Christ, and confessed her Christian Faith in her youth, in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, near Jewell, Ia. Later she found employment at Eagle Grove, where she met Lewis Johnson. In 1899 Lewis and Sarah were united in marriage at Webster City, Iowa and made their home at Eagle Grove. Two girls were born to this union, Gladys and Jorgina. Mr. Johnson died at Eagle Grove, January 1, 1910. She is now survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Hunt and Jorgina Johnson, also by 7 grandchildren and by one great grandchild, and by one sister, Mrs. Bell Lien, and by a large number of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Johnson was an exceedingly patient Christian lady. For many years, her health was rather delicate, but she seldom complained. She sought and found much comfort and strength in her faith in the Savior. She was a kind mother and a true friend. She appreciated much the friendly visits of her acquaintances.

Funeral services Thursday, March 20, at 1 o'clock from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial at the Rose Hill cemetery.
