John “Jack” Reisdorfer
11 February 1902 --- 1 March 2000

John (Jack) Reisdorfer was born on February 11, 1902, at Adrian, Minn., the son of Theodore and Mary Holzmere Reisdorfer. He attended country school in Adrian and Mantador, N. D. He was married to Ida Mullarkey on April 18, 1922, at Mantador. They farmed in that area for a few years and then moved to Lakota, Iowa, in 1926. They operated the Princess Cafe for many years in Lakota and later operated the pool hall. He then worked for the Ukena Hardware Store for five years. He served on the Lakota Fire Department for thirty-five years and was a member of the Lakota Commercial Club.

His wife, Ida, died in 1983. He became a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa in 1988.

John (Jack) Reisdorfer died on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 98. He is survived by one granddaughter; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Alice Gerdes of Swea City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Kenneth Mullarkey; two sisters, Susie Reisdorfer and Julia Johnson; and four brothers, Frank, Matt, Bernard, and Alphons.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 6, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ledyard, Iowa, with Father Paul Bormann officiating. Burial was held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Lakota, Iowa.
