Edward John Keppers
24 April 1917 --- 4 March 2000

Edward Kepper was born on April 24, 1917, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Charles Adam and Mamie Eva Bohney Kepper. He grew up in Eagle Grove and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. He worked at the Blake Lumber Yard before entering the Army in 1942. He served his country overseas in India, Africa, Iran, and Germany before being discharged in 1945. He returned to Eagle Grove and farmed with the Hoyt family. After farming, he began working for Ellsworth Trucking for three years before working for Umthun Trucking Company for 23 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a life member of the Knights of Columbus.

Edward Kepper died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 82.

He is survived by one brother, Charles "Bud" Kepper, and wife, Barbara, Tulsa, Okla.; six nieces and nephews, Sheila Vonder-Embse, Ann Thompson, Ed Tegland, Michael Kepper, Marilyn Manning, and Susan Kepper. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Henry Kepper, and one sister, Eileen Tegland.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Ray Burkle officiating. Burial was held at the Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove. A Rosary service was held at 7 p.m. on Monday. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
