PATRICIA L. STRAIT
Patricia L. Shaw was born September 8, 1931, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She attended schools in Eagle Grove and graduated from there. She then moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa, and worked as a clerk for Woolworth's. She later worked as a waitress at Pop's Lunch. In 1952 she married Lou Strait and the couple established their home in Clare, Iowa, before moving to Fort Dodge. She won the annual City Bride & Groom Contest in 1952. She was a homemaker until 1987. She then worked at Wal-Mart until she retired in 1996.

Patricia L. Strait died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, at the age of 68. She is survived by her husband, Lou; one son, Mark Strait, and wife, Joanne, Fort Dodge; two daughters, Dianna Campbell, and husband, Tracy; Fort Dodge, and Mary Hainzinger, and husband, Dave, Dayton, Iowa; six grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Shaw, Clarion, Iowa, and Jim Shaw, Goldfield, Iowa; and two sisters, Threilua Heslop, Eagle Grove, and Helen Hill, Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her father, Robin Shaw; mother, Mary Sunde; one brother, Frances Johnston; and stepfather, Al Sunde.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today), March 8, 2000, at 10:30 a.m., in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, with Reverend Chris Van Oosbree officiating. Burial will be held at St. James Cemetery in Clare. Friends may call after 6 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home of Fort Dodge was in charge of arrangements.
