IRENE E. MIDLAND
Irene Ellen Long was born on August 3, 1913, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Charles M. and Nellie Hansen Long. She grew up in Eagle Grove and attended school, graduating with the class of 1930. On August 26, 1931, she was united in marriage to Harry Midland in Eagle Grove. She worked in Eagle Grove at the Art Ahrens Paint Store, and the Paine & Garrett Real Estate and Insurance office as office manager. She was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club in Eagle Grove.

Irene E. Midland died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 86. She is survived by two sons, Dale Midland, and wife, Patricia, Maryville, Mo., and Marvin Midland, and wife, Dorothy, Webster City, Iowa; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harry, on May 26, 1961; and two brothers, Wallace H. Long, and Leslie J. Long.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2000, at 1 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverends Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday (today), March 8, at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
