Waterloo – Eva B. Braden, 88, of Bartlesville, Okla., formerly of Waterloo, died at her son's home in Bartlesville on Tuesday, May 23, following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1906, in Humboldt, S.D., daughter of Newt and Ella Lanning Swain. She married Bee Worth Braden on Jan. 30, 1926, in Webster City; he died Nov. 20, 1987.
Mrs. Braden attended the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. She taught school, was a beautician and then owned and operated the "Bee Hive" gift shop in her home for 30 years.
Survived by: a son, Don of Bartlesville; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Ryan of Sioux City.
Preceded in death by: a son, Bee W. Jr.; a granddaughter; and a sister, Mabel Beddow.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.
