Mary Haberkorn Block
5 July 1872 --- 11 February 1956

Mrs. Mary Block, 83, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday at the Mercy Hospital, Urbana, following a year's illness. She was taken to the Reilly Funeral Home in Piper City, but visitation will be at the Hanson-Mowry Funeral Home in Chatsworth from 1 p.m. Sunday through ? p.m. Sunday. The Rosary recitation will be led by ? and Raney. Funeral services will be at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Eagle Grove Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Block was born July 5, 1872, at Marseilles, a daughter of John and Catherine Smyth Haverkorn [Haberkorn]. She was married to Frank H. Block on February 4, 1902, at Renwick, Iowa. He preceded her in death in October, 1951. Surviving are five nephews and three nieces. She moved to Chatsworth in 1931 from Eagle Grove, Iowa, and lived in the home of her niece, Catherine Donovan. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove.
