Arthur LeRoy Sorenson
3 November 1901 --- 17 September 1982

Arthur LeRoy Sorenson, was born on Nov. 3, 1901 in the state of Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sorenson. He received his education and grew up in Michigan. Later he lived in Chicago and then Fort Dodge for several years. On Aug. 23, 1948, he was united in marriage with Lucille Mosher at Humboldt. The family lived in Humboldt and Gilmore City. He was a carpenter during his life until his eye sight failed him. The family has lived in Eagle Grove for the past several years.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Eagle Grove; his daughter, Ella, Mrs. Daniel Elliott of Osage, Iowa; his son, James of Eagle Grove; his stepdaughter, Dorothy, Mrs. John Wilcox of Eagle Grove; a brother, Edward Sorenson of Milan, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

Mr. Sorenson died on Friday morning, Sept. 17, 1982 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge where he had been a patient for the past several days. He attained the age of 80 years, 19 months and 14 days.

Funeral services for Arthur L. Sorenson, were held on Monday, Sept. 20, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler Babcock Funeral Home on Sunday.
